जगन्नाथ रथयात्रा में शामिल हुए 10 लाख से ज्यादा लोग, एक श्रद्धालु की दम घुटने से हुई मौत
नई दिल्ली। पुरी में रथयात्रा समारोह में 10 लाख से ज्यादा लोग शामिल हुए. इतनी भीड़ होने के कारण अचानक रविवार (7 जुलाई) को भगदड़ जैसी स्थिति पैदा हो गई थी. इस दौरान एक श्रद्धालु की दम घुटने से मौत हो गई, जिसकी पहचान बलांगीर जिले के ललित बगरती के रूप में हुई है. वहीं, 300 से ज्यादा लोग बेहोश हो गए. हालांकि, पुलिस ने भगदड़ से इनकार किया है।
पुरी जिला प्रशासन के सूत्रों के अनुसार, हाथरस में भगदड़ में 121 लोगों की मौत के बाद, शाम करीब 6.30 बजे भगवान बलभद्र के रथ के पास उस समय अराजक स्थिति पैदा हो गई, जब बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु इसे खींच रहे थे और उनमें से कुछ नीचे गिरने के बाद घायल हो गए।
पुलिस का भगदड़ से इनकार
पुरी के एसपी पिनाक मिश्रा ने कहा कि वह घटना की वजह बनने वाली परिस्थितियों का पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. श्रद्धालुओं की अभूतपूर्व भीड़ थी, जो रथ खींचने के लिए बेचैन थे. यह भगदड़ नहीं थी. डॉक्टर प्रशांत कुमार पटनायक ने बताया कि 300 से ज्यादा भक्तों को अस्पताल लाया गया. इनमें से लगभग सभी को प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद छुट्टी दे दी गई है. स्वास्थ्य मंत्री मुकेश महालिंग और वरिष्ठ स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी स्थिति की निगरानी के लिए पुरी जिला मुख्यालय अस्पताल पहुंचे।
राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू भी रविवार को रथ यात्रा में शामिल हुईं थीं. उन्होंने रथों को प्रणाम किया और देवताओं का आशीर्वाद मांगा. उन्होंने देवी सुभद्रा का रथ भी खींचा. वार्षिक प्रवास में ओडिशा के राज्यपाल रघुबर दास, सीएम मोहन माझी और विपक्ष के नेता नवीन पटनायक ने भी भाग लिया।
